2019 Third Quarter Newsletter

A MESSAGE FROM
DONALD L. MOONEY, CEO & FOUNDER
There is something about this time of year. The kids are back in school, the sun is setting a little earlier each night and the weather is changing in most states, well, not so much here in Texas and football is back – Go Army Black Knights!
As we enter the new fiscal year, NURSES Etc STAFFING (NES) has a lot to be thankful for. This fall, we celebrated our 19th year of serving and making a difference in people’s lives every day.  I would like to thank each of you for your contribution and ongoing commitment to the values that define our success. Steve Jobs once said, “Great things in business are never done by one person. They’re done by a team of people”. I am proud of what we have achieved and excited about our outlook for an equally promising future. We have successfully transitioned to become a respected workforce solution company for our commercial and government clients, operating in over 35 states, while earning our clients’ trust along the way.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our clients for your continued business. We are honored and proud to serve you!

Have a great fall,

Donald L. Mooney

A WORD FROM OUR PRESIDENT - KEVIN KLINE
 Greetings!

We are privileged to have you on our Donald L. Mooney Enterprises (DME) team. As always, we wish you and your family good health. This is a season of change: back to school, weather changes, football is back, payoffs in baseball, and many other changes. Attitudes also change. I recently went through the Ft. Sam installation gate and exchanged “hellos” with the gate guard. When I asked how he was doing, he responded “living the dream.” Could this be sarcasm or a genuine comment? I choose to believe he was just happy and was “living the dream.” Either way, his words had a positive effect, uplifted me, and made me smile – what a wonderful response. Are you living the dream? Sometimes all that it takes is a change of attitude. I’m living the dream!

Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and “Making a Difference in People’s Lives Every Day.”

SAMA Training Offered
By NURSES Etc STAFFING
SAMA stands for Satori Alternatives to Managing Agression and provides training for non-violent intervention.
We were PSYCHED to host our very first in-house SAMA training for our field healthcare employees today!

SAMA (Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression) training is used in many psychiatric, residential care, and other healthcare facilities, and teaches valuable skills such as verbal de-escalation and physical protection, and other crisis intervention principles used to assist someone who is in distress and may become aggressive. In the healthcare world, proper risk-management knowledge is important to being able to react to all types of situations. Trainings such as SAMA and others provide these valuable skillsets.
NES is offering this class periodically to assist our healthcare providers get certifications that are important to them in their careers.

Things You Might Not Know
Not a great deal of advancement in the past 150 years! Perhaps a good design doesn't need much improvement?
Tetra Countertop Dishwasher
Ever wonder why the coat hanger was invented?

Albert Parkhouse of Jackson, Michigan invented the first version of the coat hanger in 1869. He worked at a lamp company where there were no coat hooks for his coat. He simply bent a piece of wire into two ovals with twisted ends to form a hook. Need is often the mother of invention!
Measuring only 18" wide x 16.75" tall x 14" deep, Tetra is a compact dishwasher that will quickly clean tableware, wine glasses, baby bottles, etc. It is self-contained with it's own water reservoir and there is no plumbing required. You simply pour the water in, choose the modular racks that work with the items that you are washing and watch it clean the dishes in minutes! You can use it anywhere that has a standard electrical outlet. I think our breakroom needs one of these!
Do You Have Unclaimed Money In Your Name?
There is over $40 Billion in unclaimed funds, money and other property owed to people by the government, banks, and insurance companies!

You can find out if you are fortunate enough to have unclaimed money or property by visiting: www.claimittexas.org if you or a close relative have ever lived in Texas or to check nationwide visit https://www.usa.gov/unclaimed-money

Let us know if you strick gold or if you discover even a small nugget! We would love to hear your stories!
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right. - Henry Ford

If you guessed (3) photographer, you got it right!   T he story behind the whiteboard began by accident. Marvin Heit, who was a photographer and a veteran of the Korean War. He often worked with film negatives. One day he marked one of the negatives with a marker pen and when he attempted to save the negative, he discovered that the marker wiped right off. That led to the development of the first whiteboards in the 1950’s. Who knew that this often used item in current day offices was developed so many years ago?
