How has COVID changed your high touch product designs?
Concerned about the spread of infection on high touch display surfaces like kiosks, ATMs or vending machines? Toppan showcased its world first aerial floating touch screen technology to avoid direct touch on the screen at Electronica Virtual 2020 show held online November 9-12, 2020.
The display appears about an inch above the display surface and can be operated when hands are wet or covered by gloves. Sample shipments will be launched in December this year, with full-scale mass production scheduled for 2022.

Production-ready Industrial SoM Accelerates Product Development
The MitySOM-A10S is a production-ready Intel Arria®-10 SoC FPGA-based System-on-Module (SoM) that delivers industrial board-level performance at a cost effective price. This SoM can be configured to fit a wide range of system requirements; options include various FPGA logic sizes (160KLE to 480KLE), FPGA speed grades, memory configurations, and commercial and industrial temperature ranges. The FPGA’s integrated ARM processor supports several high-level operating systems including embedded Linux out of the box.

The MitySOM-A10S development kit’s SoM includes a 270KLE FPGA fabric, dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor with dual NEON SIMD coprocessors, 12 high-speed transceiver pairs up to 12.5Gbps, on-board power supplies, two DDR4 memory subsystems up to a combined 6GB, micro SD card slot, USB 2.0 OTG port, and a temperature sensor. The development kit’s base board provides SoM mating connectors, power supplies, USB, Ethernet, power and FMC connectors. Free lifetime access to Critical Link’s technical support site as well as access to application engineering resources and other services are available to reduce development cycles and accelerate product time-to-market.
