New Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) Report

MiR spoke to 117 US business leaders across a variety of industries including Automotive, Electronics, 3rd party logistics and FMCG. The report was complemented with 20 interviews with global management reps from manufacturers and distributors.

Automation is creating new opportunities for safer, cleaner and more productive work environments. In the face of this change, the primary objective of manufacturers remains the same. They must keep globally competitive by saving time, reducing costs and responding more effectively to customer demands.

Reading Codes and Characters with Smart 3D Scanning (Part 1)

The new Surface Barcode tool in Gocator® allows you to decode data encoded in linear (1D) and 2D barcodes from surface data (intensity data or heightmap data) without the need for 2D vision cameras or barcode readers. The tool also supports dot-peened types (Datamatrix and QR code).

Get Started Quicker with the ACR7000

Samples can be inserted into Parker Motion Manager's Program Editor. Samples are commented explaining the code. Note the Program Editor in PMM color codes making it a bit easier to read.

Users learning AcroBasic should start with the PMM software online help file. It explains programming AcroBasic and then also has the Command Language Reference and Bit Parameter References.

Universal Robots Automates
Challenging Resistive Welding Task

T&W Stamping in Ohio wanted to automate one of the most labor-intensive parts of its metal fabricating process: the tending of resistive welders. This is a tricky application to automate due to the welding equipment's electro-magnetic pulse that blank out robots' servo motors. The company solved the issue with a UR5 cobot that paid for itself in less than four months, delivering 40% increase in efficiency and freeing up three operator functions.
