December Mission Focus mission

The December mission focus speaker is Chaplain Vic Ransom from the Good News Jail Ministry.  Vic will speak on December 8th at:
  • 9:00am - in great depth about how God is working at the Fairfax jail in the Murphy Room;
  • 10:30am - briefly during the main service.
All are invited, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the Good News Jail Ministry and the work they are doing here in Fairfax. Glenn Keller ( [email protected] )

Chaplain Vic forwarded the following prayer requests:
  1. God's work of healing through our Heart Healing class. So many of the men and women in the ADC have experienced such pain in their lives. They seek to numb the pain with drugs, alcohol, and other destructive behavior which brings them to jail.
  2. God's provision of encouragement and perseverance as our faithful volunteers lead worship, teach classes, and meet with men and women one to one.
  3. God's wisdom for building the ministry inside the jail, especially insight for reaching the many who do not come to any of our worship services or classes.
  4. God's Spirit to open the eyes of the hearts of men and women to believe in Christ and then grow in Christ.

KSM DECEMBER SERIES

All I Want For Christmas
For many students, Christmas is all about one thing: presents! While there may be a sense that the holiday is about more than what's under the tree, the truth is, it's easy for all of us to lose sight of what the holiday is really about. That's why, in this Christmas series, we want to help students shift their focus to what's most important: the gift of Jesus and how generous God is toward us-and how because of that, we can be generous toward others, too.

WEEK 1: God Sending Jesus is the ultimate example of generosity.
WEEK 2: If you want to light the way for others, love them like Jesus.
WEEK 3: Show you care by showing up.

What's Coming Up!

Sunday, December 8 - KSM Christmas Party
Grades 7-12 are invited to a White Elephant Christmas Party at Knollwood. Please RSVP by Wednesday, December 4 at the link that will be emailed to parents. Bring a 2-liter drink, chips, or dessert to share, and a $10 or less gift to exchange. We'll provide the pizza!

Sunday, December 15 - KSM Ice & Lights
Grades 7-12 are invited to a Winter Wonderland at Cameron Run Waterpark in Alexandria with an ice-skating rink, tunnel of lights, heated igloos and more. Bring a friend! Please RSVP by Wednesday, December 11 at the link that will be emailed to parents. Bring $20 cash (covers admission, ice-skating, and skate rental) or make your check payable to KCC (note to KSM Events). Don't let the fee stop you from coming. We have scholarships.

Stretch Your Faith-Fall Quarter yoga

YES, you can join our stretching class NOW. Instead of just feasting on food this Thanksgiving Season, join us for a feast of stretch.

Our November spiritual focus is Revelation 3:20 " Listen! I stand at the door and knock; if any hear my voice and open the door, I will come into their house and eat with them, and they will eat with me." GNT

Our fall classes are ongoing up to December 12 (except for Thanksgiving Day) on Tuesdays 6:15pm and/or Thursdays 1:30pm in the Fellowship Center. Drop in for $8/class.

This is a yoga style stretching class for adult men and women. "Stretch Your Faith" is a Christian-based class taught by Sandy Rogers, a certified yoga instructor from the Christian ministry Holy Yoga (for mission statement, visit www.holyyoga.net .)

Questions? Contact Sandy Rogers at 571-239-3416 or [email protected]
