Quonset: Ready for the Post-Pandemic Economy
The Quonset Development Corporation started 2020 with an ambitious construction agenda, and despite the economic realities of COVID-19, the team there continues to move forward.
With over 12,000 jobs at more than 200 companies, Quonset remains a hub of activity. Several infrastructure projects underway include a $3 million grant-funded project for upgrades to the Mill Creek Rail Yard, a $500,000 project to construct a new bulkhead for the Rhode Island Fast Ferry Pier, and construction on the 200,000 s/f, $100 million state-of-the-art meatpacking facility for Infinity Meat Solutions.
In his latest New England Real Estate Journal feature, Quonset Managing Director Steve King explains how Quonset’s renewed focus on infrastructure upgrades is creating a place where people from all around the state can thrive while also building momentum for Rhode Island’s post-COVID recovery.
