Greetings!
What’s the difference between a following and a community? On social media followers see your content, but community members will turn out and take concrete action to support their favorite local business or cause.

There’s no better example of a strong online community than what we’ve built together with Grey Sail Brewing. Recently, Grey Sail’s online community helped them earn the title of Best Local Brewer/Brewpub in Rhode Island Monthly’s 2020 Best of Rhode Island® Readers’ Poll.

With winners chosen online, success hinged on Grey Sail’s ability to generate digital excitement, and their community was more than happy to let everyone know that their beer was the best. It’s not unusual for an engaged online community to be willing to help, they just need to be alerted to the opportunity.

This success didn’t happen overnight. Building an active community on social media takes time and a consistent commitment to producing engaging content. If you‘d like to turn your social media presence into a powerful online community, come check us out.

Best,

Momentum Builds for Tidewater Landing

Pawtucket’s historic Tidewater Landing project took a number of critical steps forward this month as the developer and Pawtucket city leaders updated the plans for the sites and passed a number of key milestones.

Once completed, the project will be the largest development in Pawtucket history, bringing a professional soccer stadium, hotel, retail and residences for hundreds of Rhode Island families to the city.

“Tidewater Landing has made great progress in recent months and continues to move full speed ahead,” said Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien. “It will transform our riverfront into the premier family destination in the region.”

Grebien, R.I. Commerce Corporation, and Fortuitous Partners continue to negotiate a final agreement — expected in the next two months.

Neon Marketplace, the region’s newest and most inspired convenience store brand, opened a second location in Portsmouth, Rhode Island this week. Like the flagship store in Middletown, the new storefront offers guests a full menu of made-to-order sandwiches, pizzas, and salads with a wide selection of gourmet coffees. The new Neon Marketplace also offers guests ten vehicle fueling stations under a brightly lit canopy.

“Our family has been in the convenience store business for decades and it’s truly exciting to see our vision become reality in terms of offering our guests an experience that is unmatched in the marketplace today,” said Director of Operations for Neon Marketplace Joseph Giacobbi. “After the successful launch of our first store on 533 E. Main Road in Middletown, we are excited to bring this exciting brand to another town on Aquidneck Island.”

Hollywood Drives in to T.F. Green Airport

T.F. Green Airport recently hosted some old-fashioned family fun with a pop up drive-in movie at one of their commuter parking lots. Sponsored by newportFILM and Frontier Airlines, more than 100 visitors gathered to watch Linda Ronstadt, The Sound of my Voice and enjoyed refreshments provided by local food truck vendors - all while maintaining a safe social distance.

The Airport used the occasion to collect canned food donations for West Bay Community Action. Donors also had a chance to win door prizes, including Frontier Airlines flight vouchers worth up to $250 each and an airport parking voucher worth $200.
