PARENT CHAPERONES NEEDED NEXT WEEK FOR MS SOCIAL
Middle School Games Social
Friday, January 21, 3:45–5:15 PM
International School library, commons, and gym
International School will be hosting the Middle School Games Social after school on Friday, January 21 from 3:45–5:15 pm. This will be an opportunity for middle school students to connect with each other over board games, card games, video games, and basketball. We will have game stations set up in the library, commons, and gym, and we need parent support for supervision. Parent chaperones help maintain a safe and appropriate gaming environment by monitoring student activity and redirecting energy when appropriate. You can even join in on the games!

TITAN TEACHERS OF THE WEEK
Our two Terrific Titan Teachers of the week are... ABI HORSFALL and MATT LYON!
|
|
This is Abi Horsfall’s first year at International School, but she’s been teaching for 10 years! Abi’s interests are super diverse. She loves math, physics, astronomy, and the history of Celtic languages. It doesn’t stop there! Abi’s favorite place to vacation is Portillo, Chile; she loves the book “A Wrinkle in Time”; and she wishes she could read minds. Wow, what an interesting and terrific Titan Teacher. Next time you are in the 200 hallway, say hi to Abi Horsfall!
|
|
Mr. Lyon grew up in Colorado, loves to travel in Switzerland, and enjoys doing any activity that involves mountains, like hiking and skiing. If Mr. Lyon had a superhero power, it would be “being super nice,” so we would believe he is already a superhero! If Mr. Lyon could teach any subject, he would teach Japanese History—cool! Next time you are in the 200 hallway, say hello to Matt Lyon, a terrific Titan teacher!
For questions about Titan Teacher of the Week, email Janet Towne.

IS ROBOTICS TEAM WINS FIRST LEGO LEAGUE CORE VALUES AWARD!
Congratulations to Da Ravens, IS's very own Robotics team, for bringing home a Core Values Award at the First Lego League (FLL) event! All 3 teams did an amazing job, and while it was the first time participating for many of our students, we saw a lot of growth through this experience. We are especially proud that everyone did their best to embody IS Titan Robotics Club's and FIRST Robotic's values. Special thanks to our student advisors, Nusha and Abhishri, who set the example and mentored the team. Way to go, Da Ravens! For questions, email the Titan Robotics Team.
