Whitman Fire Department Offers Ways to Get Involved in Local Emergency Preparedness
Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director Timothy Grenno would like to offer residents tips about getting involved in local emergency preparedness.
There are many important ways residents can get involved in their community's emergency preparedness and disaster response. Well-trained volunteers are invaluable after a disaster as volunteers can handle basic aid, which eases the burden on first responders during critical incidents.
Residents who are interested in joining Whitman's CERT should email Lisa Riley at lriley@whitman-ma.gov . CERT training classes are offered once per year. READ MORE

Yes, You Can!
You can design your own life, you can change those habits that are holding you back, you can build a better life for yourself.

Small changes that help your mind, your body or your spirit make a big difference. Take on one bad habit at a time, something you think is holding you back.

The amount of time it takes to change a habit varies from the person, the circumstance and the habit itself, but prevailing wisdom says it's somewhere between 2 - 3 months.

Here are some tips:
  1. Set clear goals. Make sure the behaviors you want to change are specific, measurable, and attainable. ...
  2. Make a realistic plan. Set yourself up for success by making sure you have practical ways to reach your goals. ...
  3. Avoid making too many changes at once. ...
  4. Think positively. ...
  5. Change for yourself, not anyone else.
