Guidelines for 2020-2021 school year announced
The school year starts in just two weeks, and the administration has been planning all summer how to safely welcome back students. Students will notice changes from the first day, as we practice the Hybrid Schedule for the first eight school days.

Freshmen and sophomores will meet in person, while juniors and seniors will attend virtually at the regularly scheduled class times, Aug. 5 (A Day) and 6 (B Day). On Friday, Aug. 7, and the following Monday, juniors and seniors will meet in person, and freshmen and sophomores will use eLearning. Students will follow that two-days in-person and two-days online schedule through Aug. 14, and all students will be on campus starting Aug. 17.

Students are required to wear masks and will be socially distanced in their classrooms, with some classrooms moving to spaces like the Administrative Corridor and the Auditorium Lobby. Students will begin and end the school day on staggered times by class, with each class using a different stairwell. To reduce crowding in the hallways, students will not use lockers. Students should carry their own water bottles, hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, and sunscreen. For more information, read the Providence Re-Entry Plans

Registration for sophomores through seniors is on Aug. 4, and freshman orientation is on Aug. 3. For registration forms, click here .

Maintaining our campus, especially our athletic facilities, takes more than our paid staff. One long-time group of volunteers provides expert electrical help. Recently this group -- including Dennis Ettel ’74 of RKR and Brian Combs ’76 and Richard Combs ’77 of Combs Heating & Air -- as well as Athletic Director Mickey Golembeski resolved electrical issues and replaced lights on the football/soccer field. Parent Charlie Galligan '88 of Excel Excavating led the installation of lights on the new poles at the tennis courts and softball fields.

Grad rides tandem bike for charity
Running races together is something the Garner family likes to do. This year, they decided to register for the Disney Marathon in January 2021 and to raise money for a cause while they trained for it. James Garner Jr. '15 was inspired to draw attention to their cause after seeing a neighbor and his son ride by on a tandem bicycle. He and his younger brother then rode a tandem bike 350 miles to Asheville, N.C., where their family was vacationing for the July 4 weekend.

Let Us Pray
Student's Prayer for Beginning of School Year
Lord Jesus, I ask for Your help as I begin this new school year.
Allow me to experience Your presence in the many blessings You put
before me.
Open my eyes to the new challenges and exciting opportunities that this
new school year brings.
Open my heart and mind to new friends and new teachers.
Give me a generous spirit to be enthusiastic with my studies and courage to accept new opportunities.
Help me to be attentive to my teachers and let me experience Your
presence in my new friends.
Jesus, inspire me to do my best this year!
Amen
