Masks will still be required for crowded outdoor events, such as attendance at sports stadiums or outdoor concerts.
Maryland appears to be cracking down on those who are being offered back the job they lost in the pandemic -- but are now refusing to return to, preferring to accept unemployment insurance benefits instead.
As demand for coronavirus vaccines tapers off slightly, D.C. officials are considering incentives to persuade workers and residents to take the shot.

Employee Highlight - Employ Prince George's
Angela Perkins
Workshop Facilitator

Employ Prince George's
Meet Angela Perkins. As one of EPG’s first quarantine hires, Angela may still be “new” to some staff. In her role as a Workforce Instructor, Angela hit the ground running and did both.

Joining EPG with over 15 years of teaching experience, Angela was thrust into the world of Workforce Development, learning new acronyms, systems, and
policies. She immersed herself in learning federal laws and local workforce structure in order to be equipped for the job.

Within her first three months, Angela was teaching career readiness curriculums online, taking CPR Instructor courses, and administering TABE. When EPG's Education, Training & Assessments department was down a team member last summer, Angela stepped in and took on several additional responsibilities without hesitation. She got EPG’s online TABE administration process up and running and connected with the Career Services Department to ensure there were no kinks in the process. Alongside the rest of the team, she has coordinated and delivered services to Prince George’s County Memorial Library System customers in the Career Kickstarter Series, which now, has run twice and served nearly 200 customers. Angela is a valued member of the Education, Training and Assessments Department, and we could not have launched our department without her incredible work!

Job Seeker Corner
A mildly terrifying, but true, reality: A hiring manager spends 15 to 30 seconds, maximum, looking at your resume before deciding whether it belongs in the "yes" or the "no" pile (and some say they can do it in fewer than 6 seconds. This means that no matter how qualified for your dream job you may be, none of it matters if your resume can’t prove it in less than a few blinks. Scary, right?

Thankfully, there are a few tweaks you can make to your CV's content and formatting to help it stand out the way you know it deserves to. Here are 11 tried-and-true tricks, care of the experts, that have actually worked to get a resume into the "yes" pile.
Job searching is a multi-step process that requires a strategic approach; you need to evaluate each step based on the time, effort, and impact that it has on the entire process. Not designing the job search strategy based on the time/effort/impact priorities is the biggest flaw in the workflow. To set up a successful job search strategy, you need to transition from the academic mindset to the industry one. You have to think like an industry professional. Priority setting is an important quality of industry professionals.
