From President Frank H. Wu:

The Queens College 2021–2026 Strategic Plan has been formulated with the help of many Queens College stakeholders, including faculty, students, alumni, staff, members of the Queens College Foundation, and Queens community members. Through an inclusive process including 11 town halls with over a thousand participants, we have developed a plan that will guide Queens College to a brighter future and enable it to provide its students with the best possible education in a welcoming environment.

The plan is the result of a year-long process that began in Fall 2020 and thus coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic. Though all meetings and town halls were conducted over Zoom, we successfully engaged deeply in discussions about our core purpose and the values we hold dear. For the framework of this plan, we envisioned the future state we wanted to accomplish in five core areas of our work and what it will take to get there.

As part of the advancement of our strategic plan, we are pleased to call for proposals for the Queens College Strategic Plan Implementation Grant (SPIG) 2022. Six grants of $5,000 each will be awarded to initiatives that specifically aim to achieve Queens College’s vision in the coming year. Each group must be led by a faculty or staff member. Initiatives may focus on one or more areas of the plan. Each initiative must be achievable within the 2022-2023 academic year. The grant may be combined with other funding for a larger initiative, but all funding must be identified and in hand when applying for this grant. The grant application deadline is February 4, 2022.

Requirements:
  • Must come from a department or group of any combination of Queens College faculty, staff and/or students;
  • Must have a lead contact that is a faculty, staff or administrator responsible for submission, managing, and reporting on the grant; and
  • Must include all of the requested information on this form*. (You must be signed into Microsoft 365 to complete this form; use your CUNYfirst credentials.)
