County unveils measures to limit the spread of COVID-19
"We're acting on facts, not fear," said New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer, as he announced actions the county is taking to limit the spread of COVID-19, the novel coronavirus, amid the viral pandemic. Among them, county libraries will be closed to the public beginning Monday morning, March 16th and county all county programming and sports leagues are indefinitely postponed. County Executive receives 2019 Legislative Award from DRPS
New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer received the 2019 Legislative Award from the Delaware Recreation and Parks Society at an awards ceremony in Newark on Tuesday, March 10th. The County Executive was recognized for the administration's efforts to refocus Carousel Park's programming, bring a new park to Middletown and historic preservation initiatives.
NCC Scholarship application deadline is March 20th, apply now!
The deadline to apply for the New Castle County Scholarship Program is approaching quickly! You only have until Friday, March 20th to submit your application. Last year, New Castle County awarded over $50,000 in scholarship funds to applicants and some students also received full tuition to Wilmington University. Governor signs SB 139, a bill aimed at animal safety, at Carousel Park
Governor John Carney joined County and State officials at Carousel Park to sign SB 139 in Wednesday. The bill improves shelter and tethering standards for dogs during hazardous weather conditions that post a serious adverse risk to the health and safety of dogs.
