SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Remote Learning Expectations
Online families: Please see this schedule and this list of remote learning expectations as we transition to the next phase of hybrid learning here at Archway Arete. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and partnership during this time.

School Counselor’s Corner
Great Hearts, at the district level, has adopted a new coping skills program that we will begin to implement on the first day of in-person instruction in our Archway schools across the network. The purpose of this program is to be proactive with our students’ social and emotional health, and to teach them skills that they can use to help them self-regulate as they return to the classroom. Each day, for the first two weeks, I will be coming to Archway classrooms via a five minute video to introduce these topics to our scholars. The skills are linked here so you can continue to practice and reinforce them at home.

No Lunch
There will be no lunch on campus half days next week, Tuesday, September 1st (Kindergarten) and Wednesday, September 2nd. Release times are as follows:
Tuesday, September 2nd: Kindergarten Only - 11:50 am
Wednesday, September 3rd:
K-2 - 11:50 am
3-5 - 12:05 pm
K-5 Prep Siblings - 12:25 pm

Masks
Parents, as you prepare your children to return to school, we ask that they not wear masks with exhalation valves or vents. The purpose of masks is to keep respiratory droplets from reaching others to aid with source control. However, masks with one-way valves or vents allow air to be exhaled through a hole in the material, which can result in expelled respiratory droplets that can reach others. This type of mask does not prevent the person wearing the mask from transmitting COVID-19 to others.

 COVID Testing
Until future COVID testings are scheduled, families can get tested through Premier. Our partnership gives you 2 options for testing:
  • The Premier lab on Osborn and 16th is open to the public.
  • If you are feeling symptomatic or have been exposed, Premier is doing house calls. For either option call Premier directly: 602-441-2808.

Please note, you will need to present your insurance card or pay for the testing.

Health Policy
Please carefully read the Great Hearts Health Policy for directives on what to do when your child is experiencing symptoms of illness. If your child states that they feel unwell, please take their temperature. If their temperature reads 100* or more prior to medication, please keep them home and call our attendance line at 480-222-4233.

New Tardy Check-In Procedures
Students who arrive late to school (7:50 - 8:20 am) will now check in on the west side of campus at the Academic Building. Students will still be considered late, and Excused and Unexcused codes will apply. Please see the Family Handbook for the Tardy Policy.
If your child arrives after 8:20 am, please check them in at the front office. Our front office now has a limited capacity, so only one family will be admitted at a time.

School Start Time
The school bell rings at 7:50 am and the Pledge and Opening Announcements begin promptly. Our doors open at 7:20 am. To avoid congestion in the drop off line and potential late arrival, please plan to arrive on campus no sooner than 7:20 am and no later than 7:40 am. By entering campus early, cars will have sufficient time to circle through the drop off line, giving your child time to arrive to class on time.
New Wednesday Release Times
Beginning September 9th, Wednesdays will now have release times as follows:
  • K-2: 1:15 pm
  • 3-5: 1:35 pm
  • K-5 w/ Prep siblings: 1:55 pm

Thank You, Volunteers
Archway Arete thanks our incredible community for their hard work in preparing and assembling the student desk shields. Your efforts readied us for our opening next week. We have an amazing community!
Our Community in Action
Our Community Investment campaign makes it possible to provide a rich curriculum to all of our students. Many thanks to the families who have already given or pledged to our 2020-21 Community Investment campaign.
