Weekly COVID-19 Update: February 11
Team,

Today, I have some optimistic news to share. COVID-19 cases decreased dramatically last week on all of our campuses. In total, 85 cases were reported, down from 210 the prior week. Although these numbers are still higher than previous surges, they are a sign that the most recent wave may be on the decline. Our decline in cases follows similar trends across the U.S., however, hospitalizations remain high.

I attribute this overall decline in campus cases to the commitment you all have made to the safety of our Bengal community. I believe we have weathered this surge well, with minimal disruption to our students, because of your flexibility and commitment to teaching and learning. Please know that our leadership team continues to meet regularly to discuss our operational levels. If things continue to go in the right direction, I am very hopeful that some of our current public health guidelines may be amended or lifted in the near future.

Again, thank you for all you have done, and continue to do. Please continue to allow flexibility in our offices and classrooms, and continue to follow health recommendations and campus policies. Idaho State will remain at Level White on all campuses through at least Friday, February 18.
Operational Updates and Reminders

  • Face coverings are required indoors at all campus locations.

  • Idaho State will also continue to operate the on-campus screening program. Drop-in testing and self-service kits are available at all campus locations. The current turnaround time for our campus screening sites is 24-48 hours.

Thank you for all you have done, and continue to do to keep our students and Bengal community healthy.
