MOCAP Leadership Transition
Executive Director, Arturo Puckerin of Muskegon-Oceana Community Partnership (MOCAP) has accepted a new position as CEO of Neighborhoods, Inc. and will be transitioning out of his current position. Though we are sad to see him leave the Michigan Community Action network, we are grateful for his dedication and hard work over the past three years and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. To support with the transition MOCAP has named Kori Montney as interim Executive Director while they launch a search for a new permanent Executive Director. Please join us in welcoming Kori to this new role!

The Vaccine-or-Test Mandate Remains in Effect for Employers with 100 or More Employees
By January 10, 2022, the CAA must determine the vaccination status of each employee and keep records related to vaccination status; provide specified information about the vaccines; implement written policies regarding vaccination, testing, and masking, and specifically whether employees are permitted to test weekly in lieu of getting vaccinated.
By February 9, 2022, the CAA must begin collecting negative COVID-19 test results from employees who are not fully vaccinated to enter the workplace.

2022 Important Tax Deadlines
Tax filing deadline changed for 2022: the tax filing deadline will be pushed back to Monday, April 18. This is due to the Federal Holiday of Emancipation Day being observed on Friday, April 15.
Employers have until January 31, 2022, to send W-2 earnings forms. The IRS has not announced the day it will begin accepting 2021 returns.

Compliance date: The compliance date for the mask requirement is the date of publication of the rule, November 30, 2021. The compliance date for the vaccine requirement is January 31, 2022
