Roslyn Public Schools
SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
November 25, 2020

Dear Roslyn Families,

The New York State Education Department (NYSED) has requested that we share the following information with you about a tool they have developed called the Parent Dashboard. Its purpose is to increase transparency and make information about school performance and other school-level data easier for parents and the public to access. You can find a quick link to the Parent Dashboard on our website, under the Parent section.
The Parent Dashboard is part of the New York Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) plan, which emphasizes equity in education for all students, expands measures of school accountability and student success, and provides parents with information about their child's school.
In 2019, NYSED gathered feedback from parents and stakeholders to guide the work of developing the Parent Dashboard. NYSED is now gathering additional feedback from parents and stakeholders to guide further enhancements. They invite parents and other stakeholders to explore the Parent Dashboard and then provide feedback via an online feedback survey available in 17 languages. NYSED will use this feedback to identify the data that is most useful to parents and the public and to make improvements to the website.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please visit the Parent Dashboard, which includes frequently asked questions and contact information.
Thank you for your feedback and for your continued commitment to your child's education.

Sincerely,

Allison Brown
Superintendent of Schools
