Governor Lamont signs 81st executive order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19
|
|
Governor Lamont today signed another executive order – the 81st since he enacted the emergency declarations – that builds upon his efforts to encourage mitigation strategies that slow down transmission of the virus. Executive Order No. 9M enacts the following provisions:
- DECD authority to enact rules for all sports activities: Expands authority of the commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development to establish mandatory safety rules to all sports.
- Renewals of certain permits extended: To promote compliance with pandemic-related restrictions on sales of liquor, extends the renewal period for certain liquor permits and refunds certain renewal fees already paid.
- Extending authorization for online continuing education for plumbers and electricians: Extends to February 9, 2021 the time during which plumbers and electricians may satisfy continuing education requirements through online learning.

Travel Advisory Updated October 20, 2020
Anyone traveling into Connecticut from a state with a positive case rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents, or higher than a 10% test positivity rate over a 7-day rolling average, or from a country for which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 3 Travel Health Notice, are directed to:
1. Self-quarantine for a 14-day period from the time of last contact within the identified state
2. Provide proof of negative COVID-19 test results within three days of arrival to avoid quarantining
3. Get tested in Connecticut and quarantine until receipt of negative test results
The list of impacted locations is updated on a weekly basis every Tuesday as the situation develops across the country. Click here to see impacted states.
Residents of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut are exempt from this advisory but are advised to avoid non-essential travel.
Travelers will now be required to complete a form upon entry into Connecticut stating their name, date of birth, state of origin, estimated length of stay and location while in Connecticut, as well as contact information. The form is required to be submitted to DPH and can be completed online by visiting ct.gov/travelform.
As of Tuesday, November 17, the following locations meet the criteria:
