Humble Enough…
Some time ago in Florida, the St. Petersburg Times carried an interesting story about Don Shula, the coach of the Miami Dolphins.
He was vacationing with his family in a small town in northern Maine. One afternoon it was raining. So Shula, his wife, and his five children decided to attend a matinee movie in the town’s only theater... Read more from Fr. Mark Marangone SX
Fr. Michael Davitti SX will celebrate the Golden Jublilee Anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood on September 27. We wish him "Ad Multos Annos!"

You can hear Fr. Michael discuss his religious vocation and missionary experience in the Xaverian Missionaries Mission Outlook Podcast .
A courageous, fruitful and creative vision of the unity between consecrated life and apostolic life. For the St. Guido it is clear that it is not a question of two realities simply put together, as if to add something more, but of a single vocation to missionary life qualified by the spirit of the Gospel of Christ.

“HUMANA COMMUNITAS” IN THE AGE OF PANDEMIC: UNTIMELY MEDITATIONS ON LIFE’S REBIRTH
Covid-19 has brought desolation to the world. We have lived it for so long, now, and it is not over yet. It might not be for a very long time. What to make of it? Surely, we are summoned to the courage of resistance. The search for a vaccine and for a thorough scientific explanation of what triggered the catastrophe speak to it. Are we summoned to deeper mindfulness also? Read more.

Missionaries extend helping hand amid downturn in slums of Klong Toey
Catholic mission helps poor in slums of Klong Toey, and even ensures kids get to school.
An inability to walk, leave her bed or raise her children hasn't prevented Patcharin Waratchananprom, a 38-year-old bed-ridden mother of four, from finding happiness.
Despite the downturn brought on by Covid-19, Ms Patcharin has been seen with a smile on her face.

Serving a Wounded World in Interreligious Solidarity – A Christian Call to Reflection and Action During COVID-19 and Beyond
From the Pontifical Council of Interreligious Dialogue & the World Council of Churches August 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on the global community with unavoidable immediacy and with little preparedness on our part. It has dramatically altered everyone’s daily life, and powerfully exposed the vulnerability that all humans share. Alongside the millions who have been infected physically, many more have been affected psychologically, economically, politically and religiously; all have been deprived of public worship...Read more.
Pope Francis: We cannot go back to old ways after the pandemic

We cry out to you
God of all,
we cry out to you for help.
In your mercy, hear our prayer.

Protect us, Lord, and be with us
especially those of us most vulnerable
during this coronavirus crisis.

Move us to reach out in love
to our neighbours near and far.
So that the humble may be exalted,
the hungry filled with good things.

Grant us the courage
not to rush back to our old ways,
but to rebuild our world together,
creating foundations of justice,
with equality and peace for all.

Amen.

~Catherine Gorman

How Catholics can work for racial justice
Blessed are you who are willing to engage in a sincere conversation about race.
Blessed are you who embrace your Black sisters and brothers in the fight for social justice.
Blessed are you who are willing to be uncomfortable for the sake of healing our society.
Blessed are you who ask your bishop about racial equity training and programming in your diocese.
Blessed are you who pray to end racism as a pro-life issue.
Amen.
