Start Strong
Welcome new and returning students! Now that you're here, don't forget the importance of self-care. The demands of school can make it difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but it's important to find time to rest, exercise, and eat right.
-
No time for sleep? The National Sleep Foundation recommends that adults aged 18-64 get between 7-9 hours of sleep per night. If the stresses of school make that difficult, try a 10-20 minute power nap.
-
No time to work out? Take the stairs instead of the elevator, or park farther away from your destination to get more steps. You may also check out these quick and easy workouts that can be done anytime, anywhere.
-
No time for healthy eating? It can be difficult to avoid fast food and vending machine options while in graduate and medical school, but weekly meal planning can help you avoid those unhealthy pitfalls.
