SEVERE FINANCIAL LOSSES FOR STATE'S ARTS REPORTED

Today, California Arts Council (CAC) released results of its preliminary survey on the impact of COVID-19 crisis on the state's artists and arts organizations, and they weren't pretty. Read about it and access the report summary here.
ARTISTS ELIGIBLE FOR EXPANDED COVID-19 BENEFITS

The infographic above has been distributed by entertainment industry and performing arts unions to their members. These government benefits are available to artists in all disciplines regardless of union affiliation. All benefits are processed through state agencies: in California it is the Employment Development Department (EDD). Fastest handling is via online submissions Details may be found here.
ARTS NONPROFITS ELIGIBLE FOR FORGIVABLE SBA LOANS!

Included in the federal CARES Act providing COVID-19 relief and stimulus are SBA (Small Business Administration) loans that are forgiveable (requirements must be met) but that are now open to nonprofit organizations! Details here.

YOU CAN HELP ALL ARTS ORGANIZATIONS NOW BY: JOINING AS A MEMBER, DONATING MONEY, RENEWING YOUR SUBSCRIPTIONS, DONATING BACK PURCHASED TICKETS FOR CANCELLED SHOWS. The new federal CARES Act allows for charitable gift tax deductions in 2020 even if you are unable to itemize your deductions, as an added incentive to give.
