Daily Update

Today's podcast devotional can heard by clicking here.

Our custodian, Aimee Waters, will be using some of this down time in our church building to do some deep cleaning.  We are committed to keeping our staff working through this time and doing good things to strengthen our church for when we come back together again.

The financial secretaries (who count our offerings, record them online, and deposit them in the bank) are Becky Baker and Joyce Bell.  They resumed their work today to make sure all funds are handled properly.  In the next 10 days, we will be sending all our contributors a first quarter report.  Be sure you check it when it arrives to make sure that everything you have given since January 1 is accounted.

As soon as our treasurer, Mark Richardson, closes out the books for March, we will give everyone (by the end of this week we think) an update on all our funds.

We heard from many people yesterday who enjoyed the online worship services.  A number of people feel grief that we cannot be together.

It looks like it will be at least May before we are able to congregate in person in our sanctuary.  In the meantime, we will have special online worship services this coming week for Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil (Saturday), and Easter Sunday.  We will OFFICIALLY celebrate Easter on the first Sunday we are able to be back together in our church building.

THE WORLD GOES ON

Today, March 30 is Doctors' Day, Take a Walk in the Park Day, and Pencil Day.

I can't think of a better time to show some appreciation for our doctors (no hugs please, just notes).  And as soon as I finish this email, Jie is waiting for me to go with her and take a walk in the park.  (And she doesn't even know yet that this is THE day to do that!)

As for pencils, these days are especially times to appreciate the little things in life.  I'm remembering the start of the school year when I was a kid, and we would get a couple new pencils to take with us, along with a ruler and some notebooks.  Of course, I have less happy memories of the #2 pencil to use on computerized exams.
