Today’s information-overload infused world we live in, is anything but boring. If it’s all too much and you
feel you need a break, join the crowd. We’re inundated with so much bad news that you just have to take a break. Well, let’s take a moment, grab a full breath of fresh air, and clear the mind. Let’s take a moment and relish all that is around us. Think about the opportunity we’ve been given and relax a moment or two. Being thankful is important, particularly in these challenging times. But, somehow, we'll get through this. You know why? Because we’re not going to give up. We’re going to put our best foot forward and carry on. We’re going to remind ourselves that we live in one of the best places on earth. And, sometimes, it’s OK to unplug, smell the roses and smile. Yes, people know you’re smiling even behind the mask.
I’ve said it before and am as confident as I was in mid-March, when this world of ours was turned upside down, we will survive this pandemic. Some will fare better than others, and sadly yes, some will not. But, as a whole, the world will keep turning, and the sun will come up tomorrow.
Together we carry the power to change, to move forward with the resolve to do better, to listen more,
and talk less. How about giving in sometimes for the sake of the greater good. We can’t all be right all the time. Can we? I know I’m not.
I’m writing this today as we prepare for our Annual Installation Dinner, which is going to be a virtual
event this year. It’s this Thursday evening, and we’ve been preparing and coordinating this event behind the scenes. This is the Chamber’s opportunity to welcome new Board members, salute new Ambassador’s of the Chamber and present some select awards to some very deserving people for their hard work all year. The Mayor will swear in the new additions to the Escondido Chamber family. It’s our time to say thank you to the folks who contribute to our efforts all year long, and welcome some new blood to the family. There is something invigorating about fresh and new. Combine this with experience and knowledge and you have a potent combination. That’s what we have here at the Chamber, a potent mix of experience and new on the Board and with our Ambassador’s.
This Chamber is moving forward and is hell-bent on delivering on our mission of giving anyone, who
chooses Escondido as a place to do business, the best opportunity to succeed.
Consider joining us and be a part of this movement. Join the fun and be a part of the change for good in
Escondido.
Sincerely,
James Rowten (JR)
