Remote Learning Website Updated with New Lessons and Resources
All teachers are encouraged to review the resources available on the DPS Remote Learning Website and the session recordings available through the webinar and office hours session guide . These recordings will ground you in the content and resources available as we implement the DPS Remote Learning Plan. The updates include:

  • All Option 1 lessons for grades K-12, for April 7-10.

  • Videos lesson introductions for grades K-5, in ELD, literacy and mathematics.

  • Although the materials were developed for those implementing Option 1, teachers implementing Options 2 and 3 are welcome and encouraged to leverage this content in their planning.
New Google Applications Added to Support Remote Learning
To support remote learning, new google applications have been added to our suite of Google tools. They include:

  • Read/Write, which supports every day tasks like reading text out loud, understanding unfamiliar words, researching assignments and proofing written work.

  • Equatio, which dictates equations and formulas aloud.

  • WriQ, a writing achievement tool used to easily assess and motivate student writing while providing automated meaningful feedback and delivering a standardized benchmark for grading.

Please watch these videos for installation support for these google applications. For questions, please email Lisa Lund .
Guidance on Recorded Lessons and FERPA
In order to make remote learning more accessible to students, teachers may consider recording a lesson on an approved platform and making it available to other students at a later time. However, if the recording includes students and something happens during the recorded class period that highlights the behaviors or personal or sensitive information of a particular student, please consult with your principal before posting online. For example, if a student discusses a personal trauma or engages in behaviors that could be used for disciplining the student, you should contact your principal for further direction on complying with student confidentiality requirements under FERPA.
