Dear Parents,

This past week I had the privilege of being a guest in lower school chapel and sharing with our lower school students. Our key verse this week was 1 Samuel 16:7 that says, “People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 

We encouraged the students with the truth that God made them and loved them. When He made us, He gave us a heart, and He wants us to use it to trust Him. The best way we can trust Him is by leaning on His understanding and that means being in His word. My prayer for our students, particularly our lower school students, is that they will learn to trust that God is good and learn to lean on Him by being in His word from an early age.
