Dear Colleagues,

Where has the summer gone! Students will be gracing our halls for the first day of classes in less than a month!

The summer has been a very busy one here at the College! The President's Cabinet has met throughout the summer, focusing on three major initiatives:

1) Fifth Year Interim Report for the New England Association of Schools and Colleges/Commission on Institutions of Higher Education (NEASC CIHE) -- Mike Stutz, Laura Qin and Jerry Ice are working to finalize this before the start of the fall semester.

2) Strategic Plan Metrics -- We will share the plan for feedback and discussion on September 22 at the College Professional Development Day meeting.

3) Enterprise Risk Management Plan (ERM) -- The President's Cabinet has been working on this for the CSCU system office. Will O'Hare, President of the College Congress, will bring this plan to the Congress for their feedback and discussion in September.

Meanwhile, the Tutoring Center and the Cyber Café are undergoing exciting renovations. Read more below in the News.

I hope this newsletter finds you well! For those who have had time off and for those taking vacation, I hope that the summer provides time for you to relax and enjoy summer's warmth!

Enjoy the fleeting days of summer!

With best wishes,

Mary Ellen

Tutoring Center and Cyber Café Renovations Almost Complete!
The Tutoring Center renovations are progressing quickly, with the goal of opening for the start of the academic year. There is more space for students and tutors, and it's brighter with more windows and new lighting fixtures. The President says, "We hope to have a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 19 when Three Rivers hosts the October Board of Regents meeting. A committee is being formed to plan this event. So, please save the date because we would like to have the community involved and participating in this event."

The Cyber Café across from the bookstore is getting a new facelift! The paint colors are new, more furniture will be added and the Three Rivers logo is being painted on the walls. This space will provide a brighter and lighter area for students to study and collaborate.
