Proud to Be United!
Special appreciation is extended to the generous donation of 2,500 surplus masks received from the Health and Human Services and Federal Emergency Management Agency distributed to partner charities through the United Way of the National Capital Area.
Your Parks put these to good use as needed by employees and volunteers who helped make it possible for the much-needed spring and summer programs and camps!
Thanks to all who ‘Show Some Love’ by helping Fairfax County parks through workplace payroll deduction donations via United Way #9400,

Your contributions are greatly appreciated!

From Mount Vernon Supervisor Daniel G. Storck
I am excited to participate in Bike to Work Day again this year! Biking is a great way to get to work, school, run errands and get exercise. As we all work to improve the environment around us and cut our carbon emissions, finding ways to get out of our cars is an excellent way to do just that and gain a greater appreciation for the world around us. Each year I host the Tour de Mount Vernon Community Bike Ride engage our residents to join me on a tour of the Mount Vernon District to experience the many hidden treasures, cultural and environmental resources in our area and enjoy a sense of comradery that cannot be experienced in a single occupancy vehicle. I invite everyone to join me in Bike to Work Day this year and at this year’s Tour de Mount Vernon on Saturday, October 16!
Ride on Saturday, May 15, 2021
Tour de Hunter Mill is this weekend! Supervisor Walter Alcorn looks forward to meeting participants and enjoying a great bike ride.

Seats may still available for the ride.
