Winter Storm Watch For Portions of Southeast South Carolina
|

Freezing Rain Possible late Friday into early Saturday
A cold front will move through the area Thursday and then stall offshore Thursday night. A few waves of low pressure will
develop along the front and bring several waves of precipitation to the region through early Saturday. Initially, mainly rain is anticipated. However, colder air spreading into the region behind the front will lead to a period of freezing rain, especially Friday evening through early Saturday morning.

Project Work Zone: North Sea Pines Drive from the Sea Pines Beach Club to the Ocean Gate in Sea Pines

Completion to Date: Approximately 70% complete

Current Status:
- Major stormwater drainage pipe removal and replacements are currently underway in the following areas:
- In proximity to Sandhill Crane Road and Night Heron Villas
- From Catbird Lane to Laughing Gull Road
- From Oyster Catcher Road to Duck Hawk Road
- Leisure trail reconstruction operations are also underway and trails in the project zone have been milled and graded and are being prepared for paving operations. Leisure trails remain closed in the project zone to accommodate this work.
- What’s Next:

Following the completion of stormwater drainage pipe replacements and leisure trail reconstruction activities, crews will complete milling and paving operations on North Sea Pines Drive, Catbird Lane, Sandhill Crane Road, Mockingbird Lane, and a portion of Lawton Drive nearest to North Sea Pines Drive
- Crews will also conduct line stripping, stamping of crosswalks, and site restoration with substantial project completion by the end of February 2022, weather permitting

General Project Reminders
- Heavy traffic delays should be expected on North Sea Pines Drive as crews utilize single-lane closures along this roadway to accommodate the work. Traffic control will be in place, obey the speed limit within the construction zone.

The leisure trail along North Sea Pines Drive from The Sea Pines Beach Club to Lawton Drive is closed to bike and pedestrian traffic. Please refer to the Leisure Trail detour map here for more information.
- The Beachwalks located at #39 & #40 are not currently accessible from North Sea Pines Drive due to this project.

Stormwater Repairs and Maintenance:
- Stormwater pipe repairs will begin the week of January 24th on Red Cardinal Road, weather permitting.
- Line jetting of stormwater pipes in the Greenwood Forest area will begin the week of January 24th, weather permitting.

Leisure Trail Tree Trimming
- Leisure trail tree trimming began this week on Lighthouse Road near Willow Oak West. This work will continue through the week of January 24th, weather permitting.
- Leisure trails will remain open and we ask that pedestrians and bikers proceed with caution.

Structural Improvement At Greenwood Gate Guardhouse Completed
To better serve our property owners and visitors, the inbound left-hand lane at the Greenwood Drive gate now has its own dedicated guard structure.
This new enclosure allows the gate attendant to be positioned at the driver's side of approaching vehicles which enables them to assist property owners and visitors more efficiently. When approaching this gate, please be aware the gate guard is now on your left.

The Sea Pines Forest Preserve is one of the most significant amenities available to our property owners and guests in our community. The Sea Pines Forest Preserve Foundation is responsible for the management and oversight of The Sea Pines Forest Preserve.
The Sea Pines Forest Preserve Foundation Advisory Board consists of Sea Pines property owners that provide advice on matters concerning and expanding on the use, maintenance and potential improvements to the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. If you are interested in serving on The Sea Pines Forest Preserve Foundation Advisory Board, you may apply by completing an application which can be found here.
