Symptoms of Codependency
Codependency is characterized by a person belonging to a dysfunctional, one-sided relationship where one person relies on the other for meeting nearly all of their emotional and self-esteem needs. It also describes a relationship that enables another person to maintain their irresponsible, addictive, or underachieving behavior.

Not a moral issue.

Springs Recovery Connection supports the faces and voices of recovery in our community. Substance Use Disorder is not a moral failing or a lack of self will. When we talk openly about our struggles and about recovery at SRC, it supports people in telling their own stories without shame. Support the new conversation about substance use. Support Recovery.
Recovery Hero: Tom Geoghan
Recovery Hero of the week Tom Geoghan!
Hello, my name is Tom Geoghan and I've been in recovery for four and a half years. The accomplishment I am most proud of is being present in my family's life today. This also involves being an older brother and a better son. A low point for me during my use was feeling like my life was worthless and that i would amount to nothing. Today, I work a 12 step program with a sponsor, and am also giving back to the community by being a peer recovery coach at Springs Recovery Connection.

Faces and Voices of Recovery wants your story...
Across the country, people in recovery are celebrating their successes and sharing them with others. However, these successes often go unnoticed by the broader population. Sharing and celebrating recovery stories connects community members with one another and empowers those who are still struggling to know they are not alone. It also helps us to eliminate the stigma people in recovery often face and educate the public that recovery is possible.

Recent surveys by the National Survey on Drug Use and Health show mental illnesses are prevalent among people with addiction: An estimated 64% of people with opioid use disorder (OUD) struggle with a mental illness, yet only a quarter of these people receive treatment for both disorders.
