Ohio Department of Health
What's going on in Columbus?

The Right to Life Action Coalition in partnership with
Dayton Right to Life is Calling its Membership into ACTION!

On Tuesday, the Ohio Department of Health issued a new license to Women's Med Dayton just weeks after the Ohio Supreme Court ruled the facility's license revocation order from 2016 should stand.

Why would the Ohio Department of Health spend 3 years of our state's resources taking their case all the way to the Ohio Supreme Court,  only to issue a license to the same entity weeks later?

The Ohio Attorney General's office has been representing the Ohio Department of Health (OHOD) since 2016 on the Women's Med Center (one of our state's most prolific abortuaries) license revocation case.

Ohio's AG office has spent countless attorney hours and taxpayer's funds on this case. Just weeks ago this case came to end with Ohio Supreme Court ruling in favor of the license revocation order.

"We truly appreciate all the professionals in the Attorney General's office. Their hard work and professionalism on this case should be commended. Apparently, the newly appointed Director of Health Amy Acton does not trust or appreciate their diligent work and is choosing to ignore the merits of this case. Additionally, Director Acton must not trust the judgment of our Supreme Court that heard the arguments and ruled in her department's favor."  says Margie Christie, President of Right to Life Action Coalition.

Molly Smith, President-elect of RTLACO adds,   "After a very promising start to the appointment of a new Ohio Department of Health Director's tenure, it appears that the deep state within the ODOH is at it again with the issuance of a license to abortionist Haskell, a notorious law breaker. He and his clinic continue to endanger the lives of women in Ohio and despite AG Yost and his attorneys doing an outstanding job to revoke this butcher's license ODOH has inexplicably issued him another license in defiance of the Ohio Supreme Court's decision to revoke his previous credentials. This is atrocious."

While this situation is extremely frustrating and sickening, this has happened before. The Ohio Department Health acted similarly with Toledo's abortion facility Capital Care Network, winning a case at the Ohio Supreme Court level, then approving the same entity a license months later.

If you recall, RTLACO joined our friends at Greater Toledo Area Right to Life in a complaint filed against the Ohio Department of Health in 2018 for their questionable licensing practices.  "If ever there was a clear example of a dysfunctional department of state government, it is the Ohio Department of Health"  said Ed Sitter, Executive Director of the Foundation for Life in Toledo.  "This is a classic illustration of the bureaucratic state, defying the courts, the public stated policies, and priorities of the DeWine administration. The well-entrenched bureaucrats at ODOH are openly defying the courts and the rule of law to advance their pro-abortion rights agenda. Nothing substantially changed since 2012 that warrants Women's Med center getting a variance now, we are calling upon Director Acton to get her house in order."  said Sitter.

What can you do?

Friends-please help us question the Ohio Department of Health's
licensing practices!!!

1. Contact Attorney General's office  click here  and thank them for their 3 years of hard work, time, and travel defending the original license revocation on behalf of Ohio Department of Health

2. Call Director Acton's office 614-466-2263  asking her to explain why she wasted 3 years of the taxpayers money and the state resources to defend an order only to re issue a month later

3 . Call Governor DeWine's office 614-644-4357  to make sure he is aware of Director Acton's decision and approves of the Director's use of our state's resources and tax dollars in this way.

We must expose the Ohio Department of Health's reckless licensing practices!
