CITY COUNCIL MEETING WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12TH

At the 6pm meeting (Committee of the Whole) the following two items are on the agenda: 

  • Ordinance Prohibiting Tents in City Parks and on Other City-Owned Properties (No cost) Objective: Prohibit tents being placed in City parks and on other City-owned properties. 
  • Actions to Address Criminal Behavior & Homelessness in Downtown Elgin.


STREET CLOSURE REMINDER

Please remember and remind your customers and staff that Spring Street will close every Friday at noon through October 9th to prepare for the weekly Farmers Market. Access to incoming traffic will be blocked beginning at noon and all remaining vehicles parked on Spring Street between Chicago Street and Fulton Street must be moved by 1:00pm.

For the safety of everyone, vehicles are required to move out of the Farmers Market zone by 1:00pm. Vehicles remaining will be towed.

FREE FACE MASKS AVAILABLE

The DNA has a limited supply of face masks available for Downtown Elgin businesses. The masks are adjustable and reuasable/washable. Please email team DNA to request your free masks (up to 50 per business). Available while supplies last. First come first served.
