Leading Implementation of Systemic SEL impacts 24 educators from Flasher, Midway, and Zeeland!
In October of 2021, three teams (24 individuals) from Flasher, Midway, and Zeeland made the commitment as a leadership team to work towards creating the conditions for optimizing social-emotional learning (SEL) through the application of the ND Multi-Tier System of Supports (NDMTSS) Essential Components and continuous improvement.
"This helped me gain a better understanding of how to integrate SEL into classroom instruction that will lead to improved student behavior and academic outcome." (Teacher – Flasher Public School)
____________________
"Prior to attending, I assumed SEL was more of a specific curriculum. Now I understand it is both an ongoing process and can be a curriculum as part of that process." (Teacher – Zeeland Public School)

Prevent Teach Reinforce works with Minot and Williston Basin staff to solve serious behavior challenges in K–8
|
In mid-December 17 educators from 5 schools and 2 school districts (Minot & Williston Basin) invested time and effort into understanding HOW to apply the Prevent Teach Reinforce (PTR) process to REDUCE serious challenging behaviors and INCREASE desired behaviors.
These educators built their knowledge around of the benefits of PTR over the course of two full days with Presenter & Facilitator Rose Iovannone, PH.D., BCBA-D, University of South Florida. The series will continue in February and March of 2022 to examine LOCAL case studies over the course of four virtual booster sessions for continued implementation support around specific topics, and then the series will come full circle in the Fall of 2022with a Modeling Session where they'll be able to observe a skilled facilitator coach local school personnel through the process!

"High-quality universal screening assessments with diagnostic reporting pinpoint specific skill gaps that are inhibiting students’ ability to master grade-level standards, enabling educators to address root causes and clear learning barriers that might otherwise go undetected.
Moreover, universal screening provides a powerful data set for understanding and addressing universal needs and examining Tier 1 practices through an equity lens. By analyzing screening data, educators can continually improve core instruction to better meet the needs of all students.
The goal of this toolkit is to help educators better understand and use screening data to support the needs of all learners. Please keep in mind that these tools are intended simply as a starting place and reference; we invite you to adapt them as needed to best suit the unique needs of your team.
Chris Thompson, SEEC's Data Specialist, pulled a few specific pages to bring your attending to within the toolkit including the image you see below covering What to ask and When (page 30) - click on it to enlarge!
