CUSD Summer School Options
CUSD is planning a Summer Elementary Learning Recovery Program for students who may need additional instruction in Math and Foundational Reading. The 3-hour program will run daily from July 6-21. It will be housed at eleven of our schools across the district. An additional component of the program will include Hands-On Science learning.Invitations to attend the program will be going out soon to those students who would benefit from the three week program. There is no cost to families for students invited to the program.

Additionally, Saddleback Community Education will again be providing fee-based summer school camps and classes for families. Camp Invention, Emerald Cove Day Camp, and Camp Galileo all offer students opportunities to engage in invention, innovation, and creativity.
Saddleback Community Education also offers week-long classes at various CUSD sites providing a “jump start” for students to help get ready for the Fall. At the Middle School level, students have access to the Middle School Summer Academy. There will be two summer sessions offered to all current 6th through 8th grade students. The program is a 3 week program with one session offered in June and the other in July. The focus is on reinforcing essential skills with excellent lessons in both math and English, as well as reinforcing priority concepts in science and social studies. At the High School level, Summer School will be offered on all six of our traditional high school campuses. Students can conveniently attend their home school and remediate up to 10 credits. Students have the option to enroll in online courses or in-person instruction. Classes will be offered at all grade levels covering subjects such as English, Math, Science with labs, Language,
Electives, English Language Support, Math Support, Geometry for acceleration, and Health. Students should check with their Academic Advisor to see what is available at their site and what they might qualify to attend.
