In a press conference today at 4:00 pm, Governor Little delayed income tax filing and payment deadlines by 60 days,
until June 15, 2020

The extension applies to all taxpayers – including individuals, businesses, and entities – regardless of the amount owed.
WHY JUNE?
The administration chose June 15 (instead of July 15) because of Idaho's constitutional provision requiring a balanced budget and the June 30 fiscal year-end date. This makes it very difficult, if not impossible, to extend the Idaho deadline to July 15, to coordinate with the new federal deadline, and still assure sufficient tax revenue to comply with the Idaho constitution at the end of the fiscal year on June 30.
