State's Stay Home Order Triggered in Southern California Region, Effective December 6

The State of California's Stay Home Order will go into effect on Sunday, December 6, at midnight in Ventura County and all Southern California counties, after the region's hospital ICU availability capacity dropped to 13.1% (below the 15% threshold to trigger the stay home order). The order closes many businesses and activities and urges people to stay home whenever possible.

The following activities and sectors are still open on December 6:
  • Retail and Shopping Centers: Indoor operations allowed at 20% capacity
  • Restaurants: For take-out, pick-up, or delivery only (no indoor/outdoor dining)
  • Schools that are already open for in-person learning
  • Non-urgent medical and dental care
  • Offices: for critical infrastructure support only
  • Hotels: for critical infrastructure support only
  • Places of worship and political expression: outdoor only
  • Child care and pre-Kindergartens
  • Critical infrastructure
  • Outdoor recreational facilities

The following activities and sectors must close beginning December 6:
  • Indoor and outdoor dining
  • Hair salons and barbershops
  • Personal care services
  • Indoor and outdoor playgrounds
  • Bars, wineries, breweries, and distilleries
  • Indoor recreational facilities
  • Family entertainment centers
  • Cardrooms and satellite wagering
  • Museums, zoos, and aquariums
  • Live audience sports
  • Movie theaters
  • Amusement Parks
