Dear Park Spanish Immersion School Community,
It's been a great week at school! We had two wonderful assemblies yesterday showcasing our participants in the PTO-sponsored
Baile Folklórico dance troupe. We are grateful to the many teachers, parent, and community members who help support this wonderful program. Please join us for the performance this Friday, December 6th at 7 pm in the St. Louis Park High School Auditorium. Click
HERE to see some photos from yesterday; I was so very proud of our children and our community.
Our second graders (and community volunteers) continue to work hard at creating their máscaras. We are grateful to our PTO for sponsoring this annual artist-in-residence experience with
Sra. Marie Olofsdotter
.
Thanks for being a member of our community. I am blessed to work with you all. Have a wonderful week, and keep reading!
Corey Maslowski

Children First Seeks New Executive Director
Children First, the first community-wide initiative in the country with a mission to engage adults in the promotion of the 40 developmental assets, is currently conducting a national search for its next Executive Director.
Karen Atkinson, who served for 25 years as the organization’s first Executive Director, retired this past summer. The Executive Committee of Children First has established a target date of February of 2020 for the new Executive Director to begin his or her duties.
The Executive Director will serve as the community catalyst promoting the importance of the 40 developmental assets in the lives of young people in the St. Louis Park community. The Executive Director will understand the importance of leading from different vantage points and building social capital, and will balance the work of the initiative with the need to secure funding for its continued success.
