Happenings in and around the Chamber!
To Our Valued Members and Community:

Along with many of you, we are now working remotely following Governor Pritzker’s Stay in Place Executive Order announcement on Friday. Although we may not be in the office physically, we are here for each and every one of you!

We understand the current outbreak is worrying. We’re all concerned about our families and our livelihoods. Instead of worry and fear, we encourage you to replace your thoughts with those of confidence, positivity, and the resolve to work together. We sincerely believe that we are all stronger together. So, let’s support each other and work together!

As we watch the global growth of the coronavirus pandemic and its consequences, part of our focus is to share valuable and trusted resources with you. We’re closely monitoring the situation and know that misinformation and fear can spread more virulently than the virus itself, and we want to discourage false information from circulating. If you’re looking for trusted, up-to-date information, we recommend visiting the specific coronavirus websites of  the CDC  or  the WHO .

We are vetting information from many sources and adding them constantly to the home page of bataviachamber.org . Check often, this is a rapidly changing time and we will replace outdated resources with new as it becomes available.

We, along with other Chambers of Commerce throughout Illinois, are communicating business concerns to our elected officials. Share your business story and your needs with us; it will help us as we advocate on your behalf.

This pandemic illustrates that we’re all connected like never before. As we practice being our best selves, we are reminded that patience, understanding and compassion is more important now than ever.

We are in business for your business. Working together, we will emerge stronger. We firmly believe this. Call, email or send us a message. We are here for you.

Most sincerely,

Margaret, Patti and Shirley
Your Batavia Chamber of Commerce Staff
So far, the outpouring of support from the community to help others in need has been truly inspiring. Batavia United Way, ChipIn Batavia and the Interfaith Food Pantry are working together to take care of Batavians during this COVID-19 pandemic. This is one way to help.

The Batavia United Way is collecting breakfast items as well as food items for seniors who can't and/or shouldn't leave their homes.

Because of the stay at home directive, the original drop off locations may not be open. Instead, please take your donations to the north entrance of Batavia City Hall, 100 N. Island Street. (Police station entrance.) Thank you for helping!
T he Batavia Chamber of Commerce , the City of Batavia and Batavia MainStreet have contacted most brick and mortar restaurants, retailers and many service businesses in Batavia to learn what their plans are during the COVID-19 pandemic. We developed two spreadsheets on Google Docs that are designed to inform the public of who is open, their hours and accessibility. Because this is a fluid situation, each business may change what they are doing. We are doing our best to update these sheets as we learn of new information.

We urge you to support all businesses as best you can! Even if they are currently closed, you may be able to purchase gift certificates to use in the future. Click the links or photos below to access these spreadsheets.
