A Word from the President
As I write this message it is "GivingTuesday." A friend and I were wondering the other day just how this annual event started, so I went to their website to find out:
"GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
Whether it's making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give."
With the Season of Giving upon us, have we considered how we might give of ourselves to help other women? Perhaps serve as a mentor to someone just beginning their career. Or provide encouragement for someone struggling in school. Or maybe offer to babysit for a neighbor who's a single mother so she can have just a little time for herself.
As the GivingTuesday website says, everyone has something to give. It's simply a matter of deciding what. Happy Holidays!
