On Sunday (8.9.20) we'll use the hymn " Precious Lord, Take My Hand" as our closing hymn. Here is a choral version of the hymn that touches my heart ~Fr. Dan

Of course you can always go to our St. Hugh's Playlists for music played by Ed and collected by me. ~Fr. Dan

Jesus said, “The first commandment is this: Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is the only Lord. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:29–31 (see also BCP, 351)
We join the other churches in our diocese remaining closed for in-person worship and meetings as a way of expressing love of neighbor (by maintaining health and wellness within ourselves, our neighborhoods and communities during this pandemic).
However, in this weekly newsletter find information and invitations to explore worship opportunities near and far. Find resources of prayer, study, and inspiration for action. Explore ways to connect with other Jesus-followers as you continue to "grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ." (See Ephesians 4:15-16)
You are invited to join us:
- A Service of Readings And Prayer
- On Demand (available early Sunday 8/2)
- St. Hugh's YouTube Channel
- You are invited to Subscribe to our Channel

Weekly Bible Study For You
|
|
Though our building is closed for the moment, Bible Study at St. Hugh's continues. As I work to expand our other online offerings, Dr. David Haddad has graciously agreed to host the weekly Bible Study via Zoom, on Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM PDT.
If you would like to receive the Zoom invitation please let me know via email and I will make sure you get the meeting information. Join others online as you "read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest" God's holy word. (See BCP p. 236, Collect for Proper 28) ~Fr. Dan

As we continue "Safer At Home," perhaps visiting a church you might otherwise never visit appeals to you. Hear what the Spirit is saying to God's people; make a "spiritual communion" with those gathered and celebrating with you online.

Erec VonSeggern (8/12), Paul VonSeggern (8/21), Nancy Borchers (8/25), Bill Faurot (8/26), Wayne Burcham-Gulotta (8/27)
- Watch over your children, O Lord, as their days increase; bless and guide them wherever they may be. Strengthen them when they stand; comfort them when discouraged or sorrowful; raise them up if they fall; and in their hearts may your peace which passes understanding abide all the days of his life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
August Anniversaries
Carol and Dan Rondeau (8/9), Alex and Dick McCleary (8/10), Margaret and Daniel Gray (8/13), Diana and Terry Kurr (8/19)
- O God, you have so consecrated the covenant of marriage that in it is represented the spiritual unity between Christ and his Church. Send therefore your blessing upon these your servants, Names, that they may so love, honor, and cherish each other in faithfulness and patience, in wisdom and true godliness, that their home may be a haven of blessing and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
