The December newsletter is always one of our favorite issues.  With the holiday season upon us and the New Year right around the corner, we find it is a time to both reflect and plan. 2019 has been an exciting and busy year at Courtemanche & Associates. In reflection, we welcomed many new clients and had the opportunity to partner again with many long-time clients.  We are thankful to all for choosing C&A to be a part of your organization's journey and look forward to our ongoing partnership.  This month's newsletter focuses on planning for the future.  The first article is actually Part 2 in our series on the 2019 CMS Omnibus Reduction Act and highlights more changes that will take effect in 2020.  Our second article is our gift to you.  The article is a 2020 To Do List in which we have embedded many links to valuable resources that will help you and your organization throughout 2020.

Best Wishes for a Happy, Healthy and Safe Holiday Season.
Omnibus Burden Reduction (Conditions of Participation) Final Rule CMS-3346-F Part 2

The removal of these regulations has been approved as an effort to reduce inefficiencies and improve the delivery of lower cost, high quality care with better patient outcomes. This new rule complies with President Trump's Executive order directing healthcare providers to focus on the patient as the priority. The Final rule would reduce burden for participating providers and suppliers.
A summary of the reduction measures is provided for rural health centers, federally qualified health centers, transplant centers, home health, hospices, comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation centers, community mental health centers, portable x-ray services, religious non-medical health care institutions-(RNHCIs) and certain dialysis facilities.
