“Make Them Hear You”
~ Rev. Jef Gamblee, Guest Worship Leader
Prior to walking into an non-judicial execution, Coalhouse Walker, in the musical Ragtime, exhorts his friends to tell the story of the challenges of Black life in America. Our service includes a little Broadway, Dr. King quotes, and a challenge or two. Everything you want in a summer UU service.
Pastor Jef is a retired UU minister living in beautiful Westerville, OH, with his wife of 45 years, Pat Wallendjack. Prior to retiring to Ohio, they lived in NYC for 15 years. As a New Yorker, he served CUUC as intern and then as Minister In Residence during Rev. Carol Huston’s sabbatical. In 2009 our congregation ordained him, and he promised to remain in communication with us, which he has done. His retirement ministry includes UU Justice Ohio, Ohio Poor People’s Campaign, tending to grandsons, and serving as Chief of Staff for his cat, Bell.

"What Is Accountability Anyway?"
Sometimes the call for "accountability" seems like a call for punishment -- because sometimes that's what it is. We are seeing, however, a growing understanding of the concept as much richer and more valuable than mere punishment.
~ Rev. Meredith Garmon

Jef Gamblee this Sunday. It will be a pleasure to collaborate again with Jef, and to reconnect with many of you then... Read more HERE.
