TGIF!
The
"Riverside U" Fall Fundraiser is tomorrow night,
Saturday, October 19th (adults only). We are looking forward to a great evening out with friends to raise money for Riverside School. If you haven't bought your tickets, you can purchase online until 4pm tomorrow or you can buy tickets at the door. Please
check out our incredible auction
and please note that it will close at 9:30pm on Saturday evening. You can also support your child's classroom experience by donating to the Teacher Wish List.
Boo Bash is next week and still in need of volunteers - please consider taking on a shift! Our kids love this Halloween inspired event and can't wait for a fun evening.
Today is the deadline for the
mascot design contest for the Riverside Red Hawk. We have been so impressed by all the creative entries so far!
Lastly,
Math Marathon is underway so thank you for supporting this program with your children at home as kids compete grade-to-grade with math activities.

All entries are due by Friday, October 18th at 4:30 pm.

WINTER BOOT DRIVE - STARTS NOW
Wet and colder weather is just around the corner! The second annual Riverside Winter Boot Drive is coming up, Wednesday, November 13th. Please drop off any outgrown, gently used children's boots
at school, under the "Oops Table"
from now until
November 13th.

HALLOWEEN COSTUME DRIVE - THANK YOU
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Halloween Costume Drive last Friday! We collected approximately 70 costumes, of those, more than half went back to Riverside families and the remainder were donated to Greenwich Hospital. Reduce, reuse & recycle!

SIGN UP FOR SAFETY DUTY
We encourage you to sign up for Safety Duty, which is the coverage to help kids get out of cars safely in the drop-off lane in front of school from 8:30-8:45am (only 15 minutes). You can sign-up through this safety duty link on the Riverside School PTA Volunteer Homepage.

RIVERSIDE EARLY MORNING PROGRAM
The
Early Morning Program at Riverside School provides a childcare option for Riverside students prior to the start of the regular school day. The program runs Monday through Friday from 7:15am until school opens at 8:30am. Any questions, contact Kristine Redlien at

TEACHER PRESENTATION: KEY APPS USED IN SCHOOL AND FOR HOMEWORK
Join us Tuesday, October 29th at 2:00pm in the Media Center to learn from teachers in Grades K-2 and specials classes! Learn more about how your children are using their iPads in school and for homework. How do teachers use these apps to monitor student learning progress? Teachers for each grade level will give insight and in-depth information about key iPad applications that they use regularly.

CALLING ALL VETERANS!
Please join us for the 15th Annual Riverside School Veteran's Day Ceremony on Monday, November 11th at 9:00 am in the Gym where will will honor those who have served in the US Armed Forces. We will recognize the family members of our Riverside School community in a slideshow.

LIONS KIDSIGHT PEDIATRIC EYE SCREENING

, we will be holding our Pediatric Eye Screening.
The Greenwich
Lions
KidSight community service program along with the school nurse provides a simple, non-invasive vision screening test performed on first, fourth and fifth graders. We ask that children
bring their glasses or wear their contacts

5TH GRADE BOO BASH BAKE SALE VOLUNTEER NEEDS
We currently have two volunteer needs at the 5th Grade Boo Bash Bake Sale:
- To bring in baked good donations for the Boo Bash Bake Sale on Friday, October 25th. Individually wrapped, NUT FREE donations can be dropped off outside the café doors after school dismissal on Friday, October 25th. There is a "Pirate" theme for Boo Bash this year so feel free to incorporate that theme into any baked good donations!
- To help on Friday, October 25th with running the 5th Grade Bake Sale at Boo Bash including set up, clean up, and coverage for both the early and late parties.
Please
sign up if you plan to bring a baked good donation or if you are able to cover a shift to help run the bake sale. Thank you in advance for helping with this important 5th Grade Fundraiser!

OTHER IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
- Don't forget to send in your field trip permission slip for Van Cortlandt Manor. Deadline to send in is Monday, October 21. You can find this on "My Page" from the PTA website.
- You can also make your field trip payment online as well. $50 is due which includes the transportation/ bus costs only for both the fall and spring field trips. The PTA has directly covered the program/ ticket costs.
- Registration for the Winter Musical is now live on the PTA website. Deadline to sign up is November 13.
