Downtown TIF Generating Revenues
At the September 8, 2020 Village Board meeting, updated projections for the Route 83 / Downtown Tax Increment Financing District (TIF) were presented. We are pleased to share that the TIF district is now generating substantially greater net revenues this year, and will make payments to the Open Space Fund for the first time in eight years. The Open Space Fund had advanced monies to the TIF district in the past to help fund TIF district capital projects. The increased net revenues are due to, 1) increased property values, 2) refinancing bonds, 3) finishing rebate payments to Sunset Foods, 4) strong sales tax receipts in the Sunset Grove Business District and 5) the conclusion of TIF district capital project expenses.

While the current projections take a conservative view, the Village will continue to vigorously promote and pursue opportunities for more TIF district development. Please visit this link for a more detailed report on the Route 83 / Downtown Tax Increment Financing District.
