We're Half-Way Through Term 1!
In this video, Principal Beth Kaminski shares information about Engagement Expectations for the upcoming Virtual Learning days this Friday, 10.9 and Monday, 10.12, Parent/Guardian/Teacher Conferences, Term 2 Learning Environment Changess, and more.
The next opportunity to commit to a learning environment in KM schools will occur prior to the second quarter/term, which runs Nov. 9, 2020 through Jan. 22, 2021. A link to a change request form will be shared Oct. 19 and will be open through Oct. 23. Another opportunity to request a change in learning environment will occur in January, with the start of term 3.

If you plan to make a change, please consider the impact a potential quarantine might have on your family in the coming quarter/term and select the correct environment. Due to staffing needs and configurations:

  • Changes at the elementary level will likely cause reassignment of your child’s teacher and class configuration, regardless of your family's decision. In addition, changes in either direction will not be honored after October 23.

  • KM will not be able to honor changes at the middle and high school levels from distance learning to face-to-face learning after October 23.

  • At the high school level, selecting distance learning may alter your student’s term 2 course selections.

NOTE: This change request form is only necessary if you want to change your environment for the second quarter/term, which begins Nov. 9.
Firstly - thank you students, and staff for wearing masks!

Secondly - please remember to bring 2 masks to school daily for your personal use.

Lastly - the disposable masks at the main entrances are meant for ONLY instances where a student has forgotten their masks. We are going through significantly more masks than we have budget to sustain. Please keep in mind, each student was given 2 masks at the beginning of school.
In this issue of our Counseling News, you will find:
  • College admissions rep visits to KM go virtual!
  • Information about the October 12th PSAT payment deadline

Thank you!
Face coverings, in combination with other mitigation measures, have served the Kettle Moraine School District well in the first month of school and are proven to greatly reduce the spread and effects of COVID-19.

The district is in regular communication with Waukesha County Public Health, who strongly recommends face coverings in schools. This recommendation aligns with CDC and State Health Dept guidelines. Our district face-covering requirement is in place for the entire 2020-21 school year, regardless of the governor’s current or future orders.
