Folklorama 2020-2021 New Board Members
We are pleased to welcome new and returning faces to our Board of Directors for
2020-2021. Meet the new Board of Directors elected at Folklorama's Annual General Meeting on October 1, 2020:
Deborah Bowers, APR has several years of experience in marketing and communications. Having worked in government, as an entrepreneur, and in an international consulting firm, Deborah also served as Folklorama’s Director of Marketing & Communications from 2012 to 2015. Currently, she is Communications Lead for the Planning, Property & Development Department for the City of Winnipeg. In the past, she has served on the Board of Directors for the Manitoba Chapter of the Canadian Public Relations Society and also served on the United Way Winnipeg ‘Peg Marketing Advisory Committee. Deborah is also a member of the Manitoba Métis Federation. Deborah values cultural diversity and Folklorama holds a special place in her heart. 

Kim Ly is a Senior Manager in Deloitte LLP’s Winnipeg Assurance services practices. She is a CPA, CA and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) with over six years of experience in providing audit, advisory, financial accounting, and related services. Kim has been involved with Folklorama since 2013. She has served as a member of the Youth Committee, Licensing Committee, and Finance and Audit Committee. In addition, she is a part of the Flying Lion Dance Troupe (FLDT), which is also a member of Folklorama.
George Wong, FCMC, MBA, B.Sc., CTM is an entrepreneur, former CEO for a healthcare facility in the United States, and a Certified Management Consultant with an MBA from Ivey Business School. George has served on numerous for-profit and non-profit boards, including as founder and past president of the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization of Manitoba (IRCOM). He is a community leader with a keen sense of the integral role of multiculturalism and cross-cultural interactions as drivers for community development. George’s top priority is to foster the continuous improvement and enrichment of Folklorama.

2019 Annual Report

Attend a book festival in your own living room!
The Rady JCC teamed up with the JCC Literary Consortium to bring you dozens of the most popular and talented authors right to your living room through the Book Festival of the MJCCA. You are invited to join in the numerous events running now through mid-November and get inspired and educated by the stories and ideas of great authors, all while supporting the Rady JCC. Half of the profits from each ticket sold will be shared with the Rady JCC and support Jewish life in their community. Pre-registration is required for all events.
Searching for a new studio to rent?
Zoloto Ukrainian Dance is offering their studios to rent to various dance, culture, sports and fitness groups at competitive pricing! They have two 1,000sqft studios for rent by the hour, with special discounting for community and non-profit groups.
