September is back to school month, and this year is different from any we've seen before. We'd like to be here to help students and parents with resources to make this a successful year - one that is filled with learning, fun and work.
We have books to help children as they do more learning at home. We've greatly expanded out workbook selection to supplement and reinforce school learning. We've expanded our parenting books to include advice and guidance to parents on learning.
We're also very excited to announce that we will host a series of educational sessions for parents with some wonderful speakers who will focus on children and friendships, technology, and learning strategies in today's world. These talks will take place via Zoom in October and November. Please watch our October newsletter for more information.
Working together in our own communities across the country (and beyond), we can provide an environment that values learning for parents, teachers, grandparents, friends, libraries and bookstores - among others!

EDC (The Educational Development Corp) publishes a wide variety of children's activity books, sticker books, early readers, and books on science and art. The books are beautifully designed and well thought out.
The company decided in 2018 to only sell through stores and their own sales team and not on Amazon.com. Once they did that, their sales actually increased 59% in 2019 and sales have continued to grow in following years.
We just received an order of their books and more new titles will be coming! We hope you'll take a look. (Unfortunately, we don't have the ability at this time to list these books for sale online, so you'll need to visit the shop to purchase them.)

To Sleep in a Sea of Stars
Christopher Paolini
VICKY: What a grand adventure story! I can't put this book down!! Kira Navarez is a scientist on a voyage of discovery in the future to the outer reaches of the galaxy. Her body becomes bonded to an alien life form and she finds herself at the center of a huge battle.
I'm not usually a science fiction reader, but I'm loving this book! I was drawn to it because the author, Christopher Paolini, also wrote the huge international bestselling children's book, Eragon, when he was only a teenager and this is his first book for adults.

What Are You Going Through
Sigrid Nunez
"Sigrid Nunez (The Friend) orchestrates a beautiful chorus of humanness here, and the novel asks a question we might all be thinking in these distant times: What does it mean to really be there for someone in times of hardship?" – LitHub
