4-H News & Events

2021 4-H Online Enrollment

On January 1st of each year, the 4-H Online system rolls over and every member and volunteer must re-enroll for the new year.

In early January 2021, 4-H Online will be rolling out some system updates. We want to ask everyone that you DO NOT re-enroll for 2021 until we tell you it is ok to do so. We expect the system to be up and running by mid-January, but we will send out a notification when it is ok to enroll. We have had a sneak peek of some of the updates and we're excited about the changes coming!

Holiday Food Drive

Join in this great opportunity to participate in community service! Bring your food items to the extension office and drop them off at the display in our foyer. We will be donating all proceeds to the Out of The Garden Project.

2020 Livestock Events

Because of the COVID pandemic, our livestock events looked a little different. Many were switched to an online format, but regardless of the challenges, Guilford County 4-H'ers showed that they were willing to adapt!

Keep an eye on the Guilford County 4-H Newsletter, website, and social media for these programs to start up again in the spring!

2021 4-H Volunteer Leaders' State Conference

Due to the uncertainty of what February will bring and in an effort to ensure 4-H Volunteer Leaders' Conference is the same high quality and engaging training experience it has always been, the decision has been made to hold next year's conference virtually. The conference will still be held February 5-6 and participants can expect group sessions, fantastic workshops, awards recognition, networking opportunities and overall a great time to connect and be together over Zoom.

Your NC 4-H Summer/Fall 2020

A publication by NC State Extension, Your NC 4-H explores the exciting world of 4-H in North Carolina. This issue features how 4-H embryology curriculum has been used in public, private, charter and homeschools in the state, and looks at how the program has remained successful during the COVID-19 pandemic through the use of virtual technologies.

USDA National Scholars Program

The USDA 1890 National Scholars Program offers scholarships to U.S. citizens who are seeking a bachelor's degree at one of the nineteen 1890 Land-Grant Universities in the field of agriculture, food, natural resource sciences or other related disciplines.

High school and current college students are eligible to apply for the USDA 1890 National Scholars Program which provides full tuition, fees, books, room and board, and a summer internship which may convert to full-time employment with USDA after graduation. Application deadline is January 31.
