Volume 12 | December 2019
Christmas is all about giving, of course, and the Children’s Department once again is sponsoring a gift drive to benefit homeless children in the Merrimack Valley who are served by Emmas, Inc. If you’d like to help, just drop by the Children’s Department, choose a Wish List item to purchase, and put it under our tree by December 10 (we’ll wrap and deliver them to Emmaus). Thank you!!!!
The Annual Giving Tree is up in Children's
Check out some of the cool happenings here in December. As always our Children's department has you covered offering several different storytimes during the week. Check out our website for more details.

Holiday Hours this Month
The library has some special hours during this Holiday Season:

Library is closed Dec. 24 and 25 and Jan. 1, 2020
Library Closes at 5pm Dec. 31 (New Years Eve)

Otherwise we will be here for you our regular hours.
When the Library is closed for inclement winter weather, the closing will be posted on the Library web site, and will be on the Library’s Facebook Pages, Twitter and Instagram accounts, as well as on the Library’s voice mail. If the Methuen Public Schools are closed, Children’s Programs are cancelled. The Library often opens later in the day even if the public schools are closed, so please check in with us to see whether we will have a delayed opening or not. Adult programs are normally held as scheduled if the Library is open.

This group is for teens in grades 7-12. No need to register. Just drop in

What's Happening Down in Children's?
Festive Month in Children's Dept.
This will be a festive month in the Children’s Room – besides our regular programming we offer some fun holiday happenings. Our popular “’Twas the Night before Christmas” event takes place the evening of December 18, when children enjoy Christmas stories and meet a very special guest (space is limited, so be sure to register soon). If you'd like a charming outing during the school break, come see the Apel family’s “Holiday Model Train and Village” on December 26 – children will even get a chance to operate the model trains! Also during vacation we offer a “Stuffed Animal Sleepover,” where children decorate beds for their stuffed animal to have a sleepover at the library
