19th Sunday of Ordinary Time (A) | Aug 9, 2020
Friends, we had a wonderful first Mass on campus for the semester (or pre-semester) last Sunday. It was a quiet Mass with just a few people present, as students just began moving into the dorms the day before. It was live streamed on our Facebook Page. You can view the Mass here, or just watch the homily here. This week we will again have Mass in the CCM chapel at 4:00 pm on Sunday, but plan on moving to Hillside Grind for Mass on Aug. 16 to accommodate a larger number of worshipers.

As students gradually arrive on campus, we invite you to come say "hello" either in person or virtually. There is information below about how students can schedule meeting time with me both in person or remotely. We also have uploaded a video about protocols we are asking people to follow when at CCM. They are designed to help keep our ministry center open and safe during this pandemic, so thank you all in advance for following them.

In speaking with students I know many of you are excited about coming to campus while for others starting a school year during a pandemic seems like an impossible task. This week in the gospel, Jesus asks Peter to do something impossible, and Peter does just that by keeping his focus on Christ and not being afraid to call out to Jesus when he needs help. I talk about what lessons we can take from this in this week's reflection.

In Christ's Peace,
Deacon Matt

Meet with the Campus Minister
To schedule a meeting with Deacon Matt, either face-to-face or remotely, please use the link below (also available on our web site).
Passing of Davidson Student
This week we learned of the tragic passing of Isaac Sharbach, a rising senior at Davidson College who was very active in campus ministry. Some of you may have known Isaac from diocesan campus ministry events. He was killed in a car accident on August 1. The Archdiocese of Baltimore (where Isaac was from) has a loving tribute to him in their diocesan paper, which we pass along to you. Please pray for the repose of Isaac's soul and for peace and comfort for his family in their time of grief.
Parking Passes for the Fall
As of Aug 6 we only have only 1 permit left! To avoid overselling, we have taken down the link to the registration form. If you are interested in the final slot, please email us to confirm if it is still available.
Thank you for your support!
