From the Principal

Welcome back from Thanksgiving. We hope you all had a wonderful week of family time. We are always glad to be back in school with our students. I wish everyone could see how excited the children are to be in school each day. Even our remote students are included via Zoom, and we all enjoy photo bombing sessions when we can. Thankfully, our children still have hope in tomorrow, and we can all celebrate this idea.

This first week back is college shirt day and spirit day. Bonus! As we move toward the winter holiday, we have many great things happening. Elementary students are studying holidays around the world and other classics, the Trivium chickens are laying eggs, choir and band are playing holiday music, and high school students are studying Julius Caesar and wrapping up The Once and Future King. There is never a dull moment at Trivium. While we miss our parent volunteers and having an open campus, we are fortunate that COVID-19 has not permeated our building. Knock on wood!

We thank you for your continued support.

Proud to be a Knight,
Marsha Cawthon
Instructional Model Change Form for 3rd Quarter

The window for changing the instructional delivery model for the 3rd quarter is open from December 2-16. Please note that this form should be filled out ONLY if you are making a change to the instructional delivery model for your child(ren). If you would like for them to stay in the same instructional model as the 2nd quarter, there is no need to complete this form.

We plan to offer remote, hybrid, and in-person instruction as long as student numbers support staffing. Currently, the plan for 3rd quarter includes remote instruction being available for K-8th and hybrid being available for K-3rd, 6th, and 7th. However, if there are significant changes in numbers for any of the instructional models, it could result in a model not being offered or teacher changes becoming necessary. Of course, the sooner we know your choice, the easier it will be for us to make a great plan for the students for 3rd Quarter.

Flag Football and Volleyball
The flag football team will play for the regional championship on Saturday. We can't wait to see how they do! Let's go, Knights!

Our 6th-8th grade volleyball team won the district championship! They had a bye for the first playoff game and will begin play tonight in the regional tournament. Good luck, ladies!
The Showcase
The Trivium yearbook work is underway. While this school year looks very different than any other, we are finding creative ways to make the yearbook just as unique. Yearbooks are still on sale online at Jostens.com for $40.

The yearbook students are still taking student photos, so let us know if your child has not been photographed. You can contact Mrs. Herritage at bailey.herritage@triviumacademytx.com to schedule a time.

We are excited about this unique opportunity to chronicle this action-filled year!
People Love Us on Yelp!
Trivium Academy was just given the "People Love Us on Yelp" award for our above average score of 4.05 rating. We're very proud of the work we do here with our students, and we always ask ourselves the question, "What is the best thing for the kids?" We consider ourselves a student first school, and it shows. We would love for you to share your love for Trivium on Yelp, too! Great Schools is another site where you could write us a review and share your positive experiences at Trivium. We could all use a little positivity during this difficult time!

COVID-19 Response
Anytime that we post a notice of a confirmed case on campus, we understandably get a number of questions. We can't disclose any information about the infected individual or other students who are quarantined due to privacy laws, so it often makes those questions difficult to answer. What we can provide is some general information that may help though.

We follow the Denton County Health Department's protocols regarding close contact and quarantine anyone whom we believe to have been within six feet of the infected individual for more than 15 minutes. Our teachers are doing a great job of keeping the students as far apart as possible, but unfortunately, our rooms are not large enough to keep everyone six feet apart at all times. Because of this, it would be unlikely for a whole class to need to quarantine, but it can result in a few students seated near an individual who tests positive to need to quarantine as a precaution.

Thank you for your continued support as we work daily to keep our Knights learning and healthy!
