Dear DiabetesSister,

As I sit and write this message to you, I am reflecting on the last four months, and noting how resilient we are - how we are living through a pandemic and how we continue to move forward.

At DiabetesSisters, we often discuss the current situation and find solutions to continue supporting and educating women living with all kinds of diabetes. In order to keep everyone safe and healthy, we have extended our virtual meetup schedule through early 2021. Our wish is to continue providing support with the help of our dedicated volunteers, but we also want everyone to remain healthy. Please read over our updated policy and be sure to take a look at our COVID-19 resource page.

Last month, we introduced a video series, dedicated to providing information to minority communities and the response has been overwhelming. We are so proud to have been able to move an in-person program series online - and we thank you for watching and sharing.

Be sure to view this month's videos and check out the wonderful stories shared by our community members and articles written by our experts. There's a wealth of information right on your screen.

Until next month, stay well!

In Sisterhood,
Anna

Have you been watching and sharing our Minority Initiative Project videos? Check out the two latest videos in the series:

Bea was diagnosed with depression and anxiety several years before her diabetes diagnosis. She shares how the two conditions go hand in hand, and the need to tackle them both persistently.

This month our Experts share information on diabetes and heart health, telehealth during pandemics, and making insurance choices.
Jennifer was glad to attend her second Leadership Institute this past fall. She feels that leading her PODS group - full of women with all types of diabetes - gives her own life with diabetes a purpose.

Adults with diabetes, high blood pressure, or both are more likely to develop kidney disease. Learn about risk factors and ways to protect your kidneys in our resource ¿Qué es la Enfermedad Renal Crónica? It is available in both Spanish and English in our online Library.

Lilly Diabetes has launched the Know Before the Low educational initiative, with information and questions to ask your healthcare team about low blood sugar preparedness and a rescue plan that’s right for you.
