Hello College Park!
Thank you for your continued help in making our College Park Neighborhood a stronger community. We have A LOT to look forward to in November starting with our Community Conversations at 7pm on Monday, 11/4, at the College Park Community Center. We are re-branding the format of our monthly Community Meetings to include a couch in the room where I will sit with guests to have a conversation with them about what's going on with their focus in the community.
We move from our Community Conversations to our Scavenger Hunt event from 2pm-5pm on Saturday, 11/16. Are you ready to explore College Park in a new virtual way while competing to be the most awesome team? CPNA is partnering with CityHUNT to design a customized Scavenger Hunt in our neighborhood that will begin in Dartmouth Park and end at Dubsdread. Within the game you will search for location clues around a walkable area in College Park using the CityHUNT app on your phone, item finders, trivia, & cryptic clues, as well as creative prompts! CityHUNT has included opportunities to improve our community by "
Making More Awesome For Others" (MAFO): clues where you perform acts of kindness! Don't forget, though, this is still a competition: With
SPY MODE, you'll be able to track opposing teams, get hints/cheats, or find ways to collaborate on
High-Difficulty Clues. Keep track of your success using the live,
Leaderboard, and come up with strategies to be the winning team.
Please join us on November 19th from 6pm-8pm, as we sit down with Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission biologist, Lauren Barth, at the College Park Community Center to learn more about the coyote epidemic in College Park and Greater Orlando. This is a good opportunity to learn about what we are experiencing here, find out what we can do about it, and ask questions of a qualified professional.
We round out the month of November with our 2nd Annual Sip, Shop & Stroll Along The Drive beverage stroll on Small Business Saturday from 3pm-7pm on 11/30. Please join us to enjoy your favorite libations while strolling through College Park shops, restaurants, and businesses from Dechoes Resale to Embellish F/X.
As always, please be kind to one another, say hi to strangers on the street, and slow your cars down on our streets. Don't forget to use your Member Discount Cards in participating College Park businesses to receive discounts on products and services. We will continue to distribute member cards at our monthly Community Conversations, socials, and events. You can also become a member of CPNA by visiting our website at mycpna.org or by signing up at our monthly Community Conversations, socials, and events.
Thank you,
John Brownsord
